Samson Reclaim Rubbers Ltd. ( a member of the DSI Samson Group ) was incorporated as a private limited liability company in 1992 and afforded pioneer industry status in Sri Lanka. In 1994 the company went public and commenced operations to produce RECLAIM RUBBER using discarded tyres as the base raw material. The use of discarded tyres helped in mitigation of environmental and health hazards associated with tyres strewn around the landscape such as DENGUE FEVER. And LANDFILL destabilization.
From small beginnings the company has expanded to cater to over 80% of the domestic requirements for RECLAIM RUBBER and thriving oversea markets. The company has been the recipient of prestigious awards for productivity, export performance, entrepreneurship and 5S practice. The company is also diversifying into niche markets associated with recycling of discarded tyres e. G. Manufacture of PLAY TILES and laying of sports surfaces. These PLAY TILES use chemicals and pigments certified suitable for children in respect of health and prevention of serious brain injury in unfortunate accidents from falling down.
The company has a workforce of 130 and technology of an advanced level using a 1.2 MW power base and is a classic example of sustainable growth.
